Marcus Samuelsson, award-winning chef and restaurateur, and Herb Karlitz, veteran event marketer and international food festival producer – the duo who launched Harlem EatUp! – bring you the City’s premiere program for local and culturally diverse cuisines. EatUp! NYC is a James Beard and two-time Emmy-nominated TV show.

Co-produced by award-winning producers Powerhouse Productions founders Rochelle Brown and Sonia Armstead, EatUp! NYC presented by EY explores the stories behind both iconic legacy institutions and beloved neighborhood mom-and-pop establishments in Harlem, Brooklyn, Westchester, and New Jersey.

Guided by Marcus Samuelsson, viewers are taken inside the cultural roots, personal journeys, and lived experiences that shape each business. This season highlights the shared spirit that connects them all through determination, self-belief, and an unwavering commitment to community. Through immersive storytelling and intimate conversations, EatUp! NYC celebrates how these entrepreneurs honor tradition, build lasting legacies, and use food as a powerful expression of culture, identity, and pride within the neighborhoods they call home. At select stops, Marcus is joined by special guest Nneka Nurse, Founder of Best Dressed Plate and a leading global advocate for Caribbean gastronomy. Featured businesses: Harlem’s Sylvia’s Soul Food Restaurant, Taco Mix, and Evelyn’s Kitchen, Lower Manhattan Bar Kabawa, Brooklyn’s Happy Cork, Coffee Uplifts People, BEM Bookstore, EATGOOD NYC & Saint Michel’s Cafe, Westchester Toss’t and Press’t, and New Jersey The New West Orange Diner, and Marcus Live Bar & Grille.

The program also featured a community giveback segment hosted by local ABC7 talent.  The show airs on ABC7 on February 14, 2026 at 7PM EST.  Click to view previous episodes 2021, 2022, and 2024 programs.
